Here are eight questions you should ask before hiring any D.J:
(From the Knot.com)
(Our answers in red)
1. Is this his/her full time career or a part time hobby? Can he meet with you at your convenience, even if it’s during the day? Does he return your phone calls promptly? Are they working on your event details during the week or their “regular” job?
This is our Full Time Job. We work 40 to 60 events each week, and we will be happy to meet with you anytime. We also invite you to come to any of our weekly PUBLIC events, so you can see us in action!
2. Does he over-book events and then hire sub-contractors? Will he guarantee in writing that they will be the DJ at your event? Will he offer you a full refund if he can’t perform at your event? You DON’T want a complete stranger showing up to perform at your event.
All of our entertainers are full time employees of Little Dreamer Productions. We Do Not Hire Subs!
If you request a certain DJ, they will be your DJ.
If there is an emergency preventing that DJ at preforming at your event, we will not leave you hanging. We will either offer a full refund, or, We will send a suitable replacement. (This has only happened on time in 15 years due to a death in the family.)
3. Does he have back-up equipment for all his major sound pieces? Does he use Commercial “Pro-Grade” equipment? If a speaker blows, does he have one ready to replace with? Are you willing to take the chance of your party coming to an end if you choose a DJ without back-up equipment?
All of our equipment is "Pro Grade", and maintained every week. We have back-ups for everything. If a speaker "Blows" or a computer goes down, we can have a replacement delivered before anyone notices.
4. Will he meet with you in person to help plan your event? Will he meet with you more then once to ensure you’re comfortable with all the plans? Will he help you with all the planning so your reception is everything you dream it should be? Are you required to book with them first before they will meet with you?
We will meet with you, plan your event, and make certain you are comfortable with the "flow" of your event. We are also available by phone 24/7 for any last minuet questions. We will not let you book with us unless We Know you are comfortable. We encourage you to talk with us, and call everyone else before booking.
5. Does he have liability insurance? Is he professional enough to carry insurance to cover an unfortunate accident?
We maintain a $2,000,000.00
(yes Two Million Dollar) Liability Policy on all events, and we will have our insurance company send it you if needed.
6. Are there any “hidden” charges? In addition to the base price, is there a set-up fee? Are there charges for additional meetings? Will he buy any special music you require at your event?
There are no hidden charges for set up/ break down. There might be additional charges for things like : travel, additional sound systems (the ceremony is in one location, and the reception is in another, and we are providing music at both locations) or adding karaoke. In our first meeting, we will discuss all the details, and give you a "Firm" price. We will purchase legally any additional music needed.
7. Does the company provide a written contract? The contract is not just to protect the DJ but to also protect you! Ask for a blank copy to review prior to the date you sign.
We require a signed contract for all weddings. The contract is to protect you, and us. We will be more than happy to send, fax, or email you a blank copy.
8. Will the DJ have an adequate and appropriate music selection? Some DJ’s specialize in School/Teen dances and their music library can be quite limited when it comes to the more diverse crowd in attendance at an event. Certain types of music are not appropriate to play at an event. Will your DJ abide by your wishes when it comes to what you want played and not played?
We are very diverse, and have over 10,000 songs with us. When we meet, we will give you a "Wedding Info" sheet that you fill out including everything from the types of music you want played, and DON'T want played. Our goal is to keep everyone happy, but make this YOUR day. If someone request a song you DON'T want played, we simply tell them "Sorry, We don't have it" When they complain to you "This DJ SUCKS, He does not have the Hoky Poky!", you can just smile and agree.
Don't trust your special day to just anyone, call the professionals.
From the opening music at the ceremony, to the time you drive off, your event will be a memorable one.
Our D.J.'s will motivate your guests (without being "cheesy") and ensure a great time is had by all!
We get asked all the time, "Most wedding DJ's charge $1000, to $2500.
How come you are so inexpensive?"
The answer is simple: We are full time entertainers.
Unlike most wedding DJ's, we entertain every night of the week. Most Wedding DJ's work only two or three days a month (if this is thier only job), they have to charge that much.
We spend our days maintaining equipment and updating our song library. We spend our nights fine tuning our skills, working crowds, and entertaining hundreds of people!
We could charge $2500 for your event, but we dont need to.
We provide quality entertainment at affordable prices.
